Matthew H. Wood, M.D.

Dr. Matthew Wood, a Lincoln native, is board-certified and specializes in diseases of the retina and vitreous. He received his medical degree from the University of Nebraska College of Medicine and completed an ophthalmology residency at the University of Virginia Health System. Dr Wood then specialized in retina and vitreous with a fellowship at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. Dr. Wood joined Eye Surgical Associates in 2004. He is a third generation ophthalmologist, following his father, Larry, and grandfather, Maynard, in practice in Nebraska.

Dr. Wood is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Medical Association, Nebraska Medical Association, Lancaster County Medical Society, the Nebraska Academy of Eye Physicians and Surgeons and the American Society of Retina Specialists. Dr. Wood serves as an examiner for the American Board of Ophthalmology and as a principal investigator, performing clinical research in diseases of the retina and vitreous.

Dr. Wood and his wife, Tracy, have three children. He enjoys cooking, skiing and spending time with his family.
